PRESIDENT AND AMBASSADOR FOR PEACE ON THE INTERNATIONAL HOLOCAUST REMEMBERANCE DAY, JANUARY 27th, 2018
"Although some progress has already been made, the Roma are still outcasts from many social areas. They are still subject to discrimination and prejudice.
The Nazi regime was the embodiment of all hatred towards other nations that bothered them because of the colour of their skin, ethnic affiliation, religion, social status ... So many lives disappeared in the smoke of Nazi crematoriums, in camps, and the final number will never be known.
In today's, modern world of our democratic countries, all judiciary and police systems, educational and health institutions, many governmental and non-governmental organizations, and the media, should work to eradicate and sanction any discriminatory action in any sphere of social life, in joint forces with the help of ordinary people." - said Jovan Damjanovic, President of the World Roma Organization and Ambassador for Peace.

PRESS RELEASE OF THE PRESIDENT OF WORLD ROMA ORGANIZATION AND AMBASSADOR FOR PEACE
APPEAL FOR PEACE AND STABILITY IN THE REGION
"I address all people in political sphere that it is high time for tensions to calm down so that we can all continue to live and create peacefully in this region. The tragic death of Oliver Ivanovic is just the opposite. It is a blow to the peace and security of all citizens of this region, which also threatens citizens' rights to live. We are all witnesses that conflicts do not lead anywhere, except into new bloodsheds and disturbance of life balance. Regardless of nationality and religion, we all live under the same sky, we breathe the same air, we feel the same sun, we have the same concerns. Is it then possible that we cannot finally agree that we all, indeed, need peace and well-being in order to regulate our lives and live in peace with our families, friends and neighbours? I put my hopes in the system that the perpetrators of this crime will be brought to justice and I appeal to politicians to reach out to each other, in order to achieve conditions for diplomacy and dialogue, as well as to avoid new conflicts that would endanger peace and stability." - said the President and Ambassador for peace Jovan Damjanovic.

PARTICIPATION OF THE PRESIDENT OF WORLD ROMA ORGANIZATION AND AMBASSADOR FOR PEACE AT THE SESSION IN ROMANIA
At the invitation of the President of the E.C.I.R. (European Center for the Integration of Roma) and Peace Ambassador Mihai Gheorghe Nedelcu, which the President of the World Roma Organization and the Ambassador of Peace Jovan Damjanovic accepted, a session was held on 16th and 17th December 2017, attended by eminent people from the Roma movement in Romania and many other public political figures. The agenda of the session was as follows:
PRESS RELEASEPRESIDENT OF WORLD ROMA ORGANIZATION AND AMBASSADOR FOR PEACE JOVAN DAMJANOVIC ON THE INTERNATIONAL MEMORIAL DAY OF ROMA GENOCIDE IN WORLD WAR II
On December 16th, 1942, Heinrich Himmler instructed German police to bring all Roma to concentration camps for their liquidation. Deportation lasted till half of 1945, and its consequence was the death of approximately half of a million of Roma people, all from Europe. WRO President and Ambassador for Peace Jovan Damjanovic considers this kind of evil act never to be forgotten, and that history teaches us not to repeat the same mistakes again. ″Luckily, Roma Genocide in World War II didn' t complete its task. Roma still live, create and leave their marks all over the world. Let us be eternelly proud, and let us place Roma community on a cultural, economical and social level it deserves. Eternal glory to the victims, let them rest in peace!‶ - said the President of the Wold Roma Organization and Ambassador for Peace Jovan Damjanovic.
