OUR GREAT BAJA SAITOVIC HAS PASSED AWAY

World Roma Organization and Peace Ambassador Jovan Damjanovic declare deep condolences over the sudden death of our great Baja Saitovic and share the pain and sorrow with his family.
We lost a great man, a National Council member on Roma issue, a composer and a poet.

PhM Baja Saitovic was born in 1954 in Prokuplje. He graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje and worked as a professor of philosophy in secondary school. For some time, he was the director of the City Children's Daycare in Prokuplje. He worked in Toplica newspapers, and he participated in research on cult places and culture of death in Roma with Dr Dragoljub Djordjevic's team, and he contributed the book Cultural Places and Death Culture among Roma. He won first places at the Republican Poetry Contest of the Roma and at the International Roma Contest in Budapest.
He published a collection of poems Ak avilam. He lived and worked in Prokuplje as a professor.
