Mihai Gheorghe Nedelcu, E.C.I.R. President and Ambassador for Peace: "On the occasion of the first item of the agenda, I declare that the security situation of Roma is quite difficult, because the appearance of right-wing groups on the Roma national group is evident in the burden of the Roma being disturbed, and for that reason they leave their homes and look for guaranteed places for their families.

Regarding the second item on the agenda, in relation to the first one, I declare that it is therefore very important for us, the Roma, that there is a minimum of unity in reaching a joint agreement, how and in what way we can, first of all, informatively instruct the wider public to drastical violation of our human, national and cultural rights. I suggest that an online conference should be organized, followed by the Great Session of all the European leaders and beyond, for the purpose of aligning and setting mutual goals.

Also, I suggest that we should raise the Monument of Peace in the countries of the region that will appeal to all people that it is high time they come to their minds, because logic imposes that conflicts, wars do not bring good to anyone.''

Jovan Damjanovic, President of the World Roma Organization and Ambassador for Peace: "As the President of the World Roma Organization and Ambassador for Peace, I agree with the presentation of the President and Ambassador Nedelku, and I am happy that I have attended this very important session which discusses very important segments, such as: assessment of the security situation of Roma in Europe and beyond; achieving unity among Roma in the Southwestern Balkans and beyond; launching an initiative to obtain consent on the establishement of the memorial ''Monument of Peace'' by the Ambassadors for Peace of Roma nationality from the Republic of Romania, the Republic of Serbia, as well as from other countries in the region.

Regarding the first item (assessment of the security situation of Roma in Europe and beyond), as the Ambassador for Peace and President of the World Roma Organization, I can say that the situation is very turbulent and that there are great uncertainties among the creators of world politics, and also because of the overall destabilization of politics in Europe. We know that the economic crisis of the 1930s caused the Second World War, and I am afraid that this very difficult economic, financial and political situation in Europe and beyond will cause destabilization of the whole world in every respect. I would also like to say and to appeal to all people of humanistic orientation to take care of the security around the world because if diplomacy is established in time, then it is guaranteed to avoid all the conflicts and to establish good interpersonal relations.

Likewise, at numerous conferences on issues of the second item of the agenda (achieving unity among Roma in the southwestern Balkans and beyond), I urged that it was high time for Roma to achieve unity, because Roma disagreements are not in favour of entire Roma community. As President of World Roma Organization and Ambassador for Peace, I agree with President and Ambassador Nedelcu's proposal for organizing an online conference, and a Great Session later on, attended by all Roma leaders from Europe and beyond.

I propose a platform to be created for the joint action of the Roma national community, a coordinating body to be established that will consist of umbrella Roma organizations, as a representative body of the Roma national community, whose task will be to coordinate directly the coordination body of the Roma and the world institutions, all the way to the United Nations.

Lastly, regarding the third item of the agenda (launching an initiative to obtain consent on the establishement of the memorial ''Monument of Peace'' by the Ambassadors for Peace of Roma nationality from the Republic of Romania, the Republic of Serbia, as well as from other countries in the region), I would like to inform you that, after having several important discussions with the presidents in the region, we agreed to establish this memorial, since all the people have definitely started reasoning that we all need peace. This ''Monument of Peace'' will serve as a reminder to mankind that only in peace people can be creative, and that they can build human civilization and enrich it with all their creativity, so that all the people of the planet can realize that peace is a guarantee of the future of human civilization." - said Jovan Damjanovic, the President of the World Roma Organization and Ambassador for Peace, at the session in Romania.
